El fin del mundo

The End of the World

The End of the World consists of a series of unfired clay sculptures depicting prehistoric animals in scenes of romantic conquest, sexuality and self-discovery. On the pedestals, hard-to-see landscapes, eclipses and ominous visions of the sky are painted with black on black. Each sculpture group ventures into fragile and violent depictions of love and copulation of enormous Mesozoic creatures, a visual spectacle that remains in conjecture. Occupying a space between childlike fascination for dinosaurs and sexual images perhaps closer to fantasy than to scientific hypothesis, The End of the World makes visible possible events during the youth of an extinct planet.

Exhibited in the show Juventud, at Galería Nemesio Antúnez, Universidad Metropolitana de Ciencias de la Educación, Santiago de Chile, 2018.
